LOST

They all died in the plan crash but at various times (purgatory) they proceeded to another place (heaven or hell)...Everything happened in a blink of an eye...The journey to the ultimate place was LOST...I know this sounds simple but it's what I got out of it...i.e. "You see your life flash before you" is the ultimate Act of Contrition...
